"Jewels For The Kingdom" (Heart's Haven) by Delia Latham

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting!January 22, 2013

Book Description
Pia Peretti’s past could destroy her future. Thanks to her pre-Christian lifestyle, she can’t marry a believer, and she won’t marry a non-believer. Minister David Myers wants to help Pia release her guilt and trust that God has forgiven her...but the young minister is working through his own trial of faith.

After a failed counseling session with a wounded soul, David's confidence is shaken. He accepts a new pastorate, and moves to Angel Falls to find a haven for his wounded heart.

Is it possible these two hurting hearts are meant to mend each other’s brokenness with some divine intervention?

Biography
Born and raised in a place called Weedpatch, Delia Latham moved from California to Oklahoma in 2008, making her a self-proclaimed California Okie. She loves to read and write in her simple country home, and gets a kick out of watching her husband play Farmer John. The author enjoys multiple roles as Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, but especially loves being a princess daughter to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. She loves to hear from her readers. You can contact her through her website (www.delialatham.net) or send an e-mail to delia AT delialatham DOT net.

My Review:
Pia Peretti meets David Myers quite by accident..... his, when his sports car skids off the road and down an embankment. As rain pours down Pia carefully pulls her car to the side of the road and calls 9-1-1 for assistance. She leaves her car to check on the occupants of the overturned car, and as she observes the wheels of the car still spinning, the driver's side window bursts open. Pia watches as David slowly exits the car through the window, and pulls himself to a shaky standing position as blood gushes from a head wound. David refuses medical treatment and asks Pia for a ride to his uncle's house, only a short distance away. David points the way to Heart's Haven, a community of cottages his uncle owns and rents out. Pia explains that David's uncle is her landlord, and after dropping David in front of his uncle's mansion and resuming the short drive to her cottage, Pia can't stop thinking about the intriging, handsome young man.

A visit to Heart's Haven is a must! Jewels of the Kingdom is an enchanting short story about a community where angels dwell and love blooms. Delia Latham has a gift for creating engaging, magnetic characters and a charming setting where heavenly encounters unfold. Endearing relationships and a journey to forgiveness are strong elements in this God-inspired short story written with refreshing creativity.

    1. Thank you, Mary, for those kind words. I'm sure there are those who would disagree...like maybe my husband - in the mornings, before I have my Dr. Pepper caffeine fix! lol
