My Review of "The Father's Love" by Dave Moore

 Book Description
The drive home seemed to be endless. My mind was a battleground of extremes. Ideas of what to do next to help find David seemed to constantly flood my thinking. Yet the negative side, thinking the worst of what might have happened to my son, was always occupying my mind. Though sleep was dearly needed, it was not welcomed, for even in sleep I was tormented. Confronting depression, fatigue, and evil, Dave Moore goes on a cross-country search for his missing son. Becoming increasingly desperate and having done all that is humanly possible without results, what will he do? Who will he turn to? In this amazing true story, you will experience Dave Moore's anguish in going through a father's worst nightmarea missing child. Through his fear, Dave confronts his soul's emptiness and learns the heavenly Father's Love.

My Review

5.0 out of 5 stars A life alterating true story!
On a routine Friday evening Dave Moore's life was drastically altered. His son David, was a freshman at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He had an on-campus job and often came home late after work or playing basketball. That evening Dave's wife discovered a letter. David was gone. His letter explained that he was struggling desperately in school, and although he had tried to turn things around, his frustration was unbearable. In a postscript David explained that his car was at the Greyhound Bus Station in Ann Arbor, a short distance from Ypsilanti. As Dave's fear and panic consumed him, he and his wife drove frantically to Ann Arbor where David's car was found, but David was gone. David's girlfriend only remembered him mentioning something about Dayton, Ohio. Dave grabbed his wallet and keys, withdrew money from an ATM and sped south to Dayton. Police and other authorities were notified, homeless shelters were checked, but Dave's search was futile. An employee at the Dayton Greyhound station affirmed that David was headed to Atlanta, GA. Dave was overwrought and suffering exhaustion throughout his frantic search, but he continued to Atlanta, and after exhausting all possibilities he returned home. As the search from home continued Dave made a call to a church in Atlanta, explaining all of the details surrounding David's disappearance and the unsuccessful search. He stated that David might still be in Atlanta. The woman he spoke to offered him amazing Christian love and compassion, as so many people had done throughout this distressing pursuit. Strangers at every facet of this harrowing ordeal had reached out to help Dave, and prayed with him for David's safe return. The compassion and support from the woman on the phone opened Dave's eyes to the power of Christian love, which brought him to a life changing spiritual breakthrough.

This true story is an emotionally charged, heartwrenching portrayal of a father's love and loss, and his subsequent gain. Dave Moore has written a raw story of unimaginable loss and heartbreaking pain. His openness and honesty regarding his agonizing search for his son are only surpassed by Dave's discovery of God's love, after experiencing overwhelming Christian compassion, love and prayer from everyone he encountered in his plight. This is a powerful story of both realism and spirituality. Emotions run high throughout this true account the author's life altering traumatic experiences.
